🛡️ 1. Non-Medical & Life-Safety Disclaimer
TringHome is strictly a family video communication and photo speed-dial application.
The software is designed for convenience and social connection between family members and caregivers. It is NOT a certified medical device, NOT a Personal Emergency Response System (PERS), NOT a fall detector, and NOT an active safety or continuous supervision service.
Internet-based video and voice calls over Wi-Fi or mobile data DO NOT SUPPORT 911, 112, 999, or any public emergency response services. Users and caregivers must never rely on TringHome for life safety, physical protection, or critical medical care.
🚨 2. Emergency Calling & Cellular SIM Disclosures
Please carefully review how emergency and telecommunication calls operate within TringHome:
-
•
No Emergency Services via Internet (VoIP / WebRTC): Voice and video calls initiated over internet (Wi-Fi or cellular mobile data) cannot connect to local public emergency response centers (such as 911, 112, or 999) and cannot transmit geographic location data to emergency dispatchers.
-
•
Cellular SIM Telephony (Optional BYOD Feature): If the user installs an active, compatible cellular SIM card into a cellular-capable Android phone or tablet, standard phone calls operate via the device's native cellular telephone radio and the user's chosen third-party carrier. While caregivers can add verified cellular phone numbers to the whitelist, TringHome does not operate the carrier network and cannot guarantee cellular reception, tower signal, carrier availability, or emergency routing.
-
•
Dedicated Emergency Equipment Required: If a senior has critical medical conditions, severe mobility restrictions, or urgent safety needs, caregivers must provide certified medical alert hardware or a dedicated telephone programmed to reach local emergency services.
⚡ 3. No Guarantee of Continuous Operation & Assumption of Risk
Consumer Android tablets and smartphones rely on third-party hardware, operating systems, electrical power, and internet service providers. By using TringHome, you acknowledge and agree that:
-
•
Devices may run out of battery, experience power loss, disconnect from Wi-Fi, experience carrier network outages, or undergo operating system updates that momentarily interrupt connectivity.
-
•
Although TringHome Home features automatic boot recovery on supported Android configurations, hardware state transitions or battery exhaustion may prevent immediate reconnection.
-
•
Limitation of Liability: To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, TringHome Technologies Inc., its officers, employees, and affiliates shall NOT be liable for any personal injury, medical emergency, emotional distress, or damages arising from missed calls, delayed notifications, network unavailability, or reliance on the service for physical safety or elder supervision.
📋 4. Information We Collect
We collect only the minimum information necessary to provide a reliable, spam-free video communication service between family members and caregivers:
-
•
Caregiver Account Information: Email address, authentication credentials, and subscription status. All billing and card processing is securely handled by our PCI-compliant payment merchant (Dodo Payments); we never store raw payment card details.
-
•
Whitelist Speed-Dial Directory: Names, familial relationship labels (e.g., "Daughter", "Doctor"), contact phone numbers, and profile photos explicitly selected, cropped, and uploaded by the caregiver.
-
•
Device Telemetry & Status: Basic technical device status (current battery percentage, online/offline connectivity heartbeat) so caregivers can see if the senior's tablet or phone is charged and active.
📹 5. Camera & Microphone Permissions
We take the privacy and dignity of seniors in their private homes with extreme seriousness:
-
•
Active Calls Only: Camera and microphone access on the device is activated strictly during user-initiated or approved family video calls.
-
•
Zero Background Audio or Surveillance: TringHome does NOT perform ambient listening, background audio monitoring, continuous video streaming, or unauthorized surveillance.
-
•
No Call Recordings: Video and voice streams are ephemeral and transmitted using encrypted WebRTC protocols. We do not record, store, or archive the audio or video content of your private family calls on our servers.
🔒 6. Zero Sale of Personal Data & Whitelist Protection
We operate on a straightforward, subscription-funded business model. We do not monetize your family's personal information:
-
•
No Advertising or Data Brokers: We NEVER sell, rent, lease, trade, or monetize your contact lists, senior photos, or behavioral data to third-party advertisers or data brokers.
-
•
Spam & Scam Shield: The senior kiosk runs on a strict whitelist security architecture. Unregistered telephone numbers, unknown callers, telemarketers, and potential robocall scammers are blocked before reaching the senior.
🗑️ 7. Data Retention, Compliance Archival & Account Deletion
Caregivers retain control over the active information associated with their family ecosystem:
-
•
Active Directory Management: You can edit, replace, or delete whitelisted contacts and photos at any time through the caregiver app or Account Portal.
-
•
Account Deletion & Purge: When you cancel your subscription or request account deletion, active device associations, whitelist directories, and contact photos are removed from our active production systems.
-
•
Statutory & Compliance Data Retention: Notwithstanding account deletion requests, certain business records—including billing history, payment transaction IDs, security audit logs, fraud prevention records, and regulatory compliance logs—may be securely retained and archived for a legally required period as necessary to comply with applicable tax, commercial, dispute resolution, or legal compliance obligations (typically up to 7 years, or as mandated by governing law). Once these statutory compliance periods expire, archived records are securely destroyed or permanently anonymized.
-
•
Privacy Rights: We uphold data minimization principles under applicable privacy frameworks, including California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), subject to legal retention exemptions.
